New Details Revealed as Countdown to the Highly-Anticipated Opening Approaches
SUPER NINTENDO WORLD™, the innovative, immersive and highly-anticipated themed land officially open at Universal Studios Hollywood on Friday, February 17, 2023. So, get ready; this exciting debut marks SUPER NINTENDO WORLD’s official arrival in the United States.
This brand-new, dynamic land will be housed in a freshly enlarged section of Universal Studios Hollywood and will be a visual display of vivid colours and architectural creativity. In addition to the ground-breaking “Mario KartTM: Bowser’s Challenge” attraction, SUPER NINTENDO WORLD will provide a variety of exciting and engaging family-friendly activities in the alluring Mushroom Kingdom. SUPER NINTENDO WORLD will be a transformative addition to the renowned theme park, including themed eating at the Toadstool CafeTM and retail shopping at the 1-UP FactoryTM.
Visitors go on a voyage of investigation, discovery, and play that is completely unlike anything they have ever encountered the instant they walk through the recognisable green pipe. They start their voyage by entering Peach’s Castle before continuing into the vibrant Mushroom Kingdom.
Visitors to SUPER NINTENDO WORLD will be sucked into the immersive world of Mario, Luigi, and Princess Peach and integrated into its thrilling environment. Additionally, visitors will be able to expand their engagements across the land by purchasing a Power-Up BandTM, a wearable, interactive wristband.

“Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge”:
This brand-new, high-tech attraction will seamlessly combine cutting-edge augmented reality (AR) with projection mapping technology, genuine set pieces, and a moving ride track. It is based on the well-known Mario KartTM video game franchise. Visitors will be sitting in stadium-style, four-seat cars against a multi-sensory background of colour, music, and movement, navigating well-known courses with the inventive use and integration of head-mounted AR goggles. This ride stands out from other attractions at theme parks because of its distinctive characteristic.
Mount Beanpole
This towering landmark sits at the heart of the land and also serves as the entry queue for “Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge.”
Bowser’s Castle
This building, which houses the trademark ride of SUPER NINTENDO WORLD, “Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge,” is adorned with an incredible sculpture of a big, bad Bowser. Visitors will discover more about Bowser’s well-thought-out strategies as they make their way through the gloomy castle’s twisting halls and through the hall of medals and trophies on their way to the “Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge” attraction.
Power-Up Band™
The wearable, cutting-edge wristbands sync with the free, downloadable software offered by Universal Studios Hollywood to elevate the visitor experience there and improve the various interactive features. These consist of, but are not limited to, keeping track of personal and team progress, gathering virtual currency, and acquiring keys by conquering tasks throughout the globe. Visitors may also take advantage of extra-special interactions with Mario, Luigi, and Princess Peach by wearing Power-Up Bands. They will be sold both inside the land and at SUPER NINTENDO WORLD retail stores situated in the theme park and on CityWalk. They will be offered in six design variants with character themes.
Interactive Gameplay
Visitors will be completely immersed in the land’s captivating realm of real-life gameplay, which includes punching? Blocks to collect virtual currency and engaging in a range of interactives. Through the interactive binoculars using augmented reality technology placed across the landscape, they will learn about a new aspect of SUPER NINTENDO WORLD. To get entry to the final boss encounter with Bowser Jr., visitors must successfully complete the four Key Challenges and gather keys from the interactive Goomba, Koopa Troopa, Piranha Plant, and Thwomp activities. These animated, well-known, and entertaining interactive games will heighten the overall kinetic experience in the setting and transport visitors into the distinct universe of Super Mario.
Toadstool Cafe™
Toadstool Cafe, the iconic eatery of the region, will welcome visitors and provide a gourmet cuisine that Chef Toad has developed. Toadstool Cheesy Garlic Knots, Super Mushroom Soup, Piranha Plant Caprese, Mario Bacon Cheeseburger, Luigi Pesto Chicken Burger, Block Tiramisu, and Princess Peach Cupcake are a few of the daily-prepared menu items.
1-UP Factory
There is no better way to remember a trip to SUPER NINTENDO WORLD than to stop by the 1-UP Factory retail store and buy some souvenirs. The 1-UP Factory will sell a wide range of goods, including Mario and Luigi-themed clothing, famous character headgear, and a variety of cuddly versions of Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, and Bowser.
